Dr. Lillian Fritz-Laylin named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator

Dr. Lillian Fritz-Laylin has been named a 2024 Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator, an honor awarded to just 26 researchers nationwide. The prestigious program provides long-term, flexible support to scientists who demonstrate exceptional scientific leadership and a strong commitment to mentoring the next generation of researchers. The HHMI Investigator Program, which provides each awardee with roughly $11 million over seven years chose 2024’s cohort based in part on their scientific excellence, but also for their abilities to mentor the next generation of up-and-coming scientists.
